Falconry Equipment Workshop

Sunday, May 15th 2016

Where: Lake Hamilton Women’s Club
85 N Omaha St, Lake Hamilton, FL 33851

Hosted by Eric Edwards

This year’s workshop is set to be a “Don’t Miss” event.

The event will start at 10am and go until we’re done (we have the building all day)

The purpose of the event is to learn to make a variety of falconry equipment and socialize with other falconers. This year’s special guest will be world renowned hood maker Pete Watzke from California. This event is open to anyone that wants to come.

Learn to make:

  • Jesses
  • leashes
  • Hoods
  • Traps (Bal-Chatri – using wire leader nooses and monofilament)
  • Coroplast Hawk Box
  • And more…

I’ll have a variety of falconry equipment on display – Perches, Scales, Gloves, Traps (hoop traps, Bal-chatri, Bow Net, Dho-gazzas, Mist nets, Pigeon Harnesses, Cannon Net), Quad Copter for falcon training, and so much more

We will also be raffling a few items – Latest Two Volume Edition of North American Falconry and Hunting Hawks, Hood, Hawking Bag, and whatever else we come up with.

We will mostly be using scrap leather to make equipment but if you want to bring your own leather to make usable equipment for your birds feel free.

Also feel free to bring your own tools if you would like as well as any equipment you would just like to show off. And if you make something you would like to share with everyone at the workshop contact me.

This is a hands-on workshop, great for apprentices and pre-apprentices to be prepared to fit your new bird with all necessary equipment.
